Canberra’s Hot Air Balloon Spectacular

The Canberra Hot Air Balloon Spectacular is an annual event that takes place in Canberra, Australia. It usually occurs in March and features hot air balloons from all over the world. During the event, visitors can watch the balloons take off and land, and maybe even take a ride in one themselves.

This event is unique for several reasons. Firstly, it is one of the largest hot air balloon festivals in the southern hemisphere, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Secondly, the event takes place against the backdrop of Canberra’s iconic landmarks, such as Parliament House, Lake Burley Griffin, and the National Museum of Australia, making for a stunning visual experience.

The number of balloons that participate varies from year to year. However, typically there are around 30-40 hot air balloons that take part in the event. These balloons come from various parts of the world, and each one is uniquely designed and decorated. The sight of these colorful balloons floating in the sky above Canberra is truly a spectacular sight to behold.
